Worth watching for its intense depiction of the competitive world of journalism, "Hong Kong Daily" follows veteran reporter Ah Ku (played by Zhou Hua Jian) as he faces criticism from the editor for his poor coverage. On the same day, newcomer reporter Peter Wang (played by Daniel Wu) returns from studying in the US and is assigned to shadow Ah Ku. Meanwhile, Joey (played by Fiona Xie), the star reporter, decides to interview Ah Wei, a student activist who was expelled for defending a classmate. She disguises her identity to get close to him. As Ah Ku tries to get an exclusive story by interviewing an old friend who is working as a security guard at a jewelry show, Peter is tasked with interviewing three orphaned siblings who are in distress due to a car accident. Each of them works diligently to communicate with the people involved and uncover the truth, leading to three touching and heartfelt stories.
